Commemorative Spaces (Winter)

This series deals with the impact of nature on human memory and its lasting effect. The photographs look into spaces where plaques have been left as acts of remembrance and celebrations of life. We are invited, through these plaques, to join in the act of looking and recalling the lives that have passed through before. In the different seasons we are taken on a journey that intersects with feelings of hope and loss that are recalled in this memorial space.

The season of winter evokes the stripping away of life that comes before renewal and helps us work through the loss that we have endured.
